MTM is back in an online format!

MTM (Online webinar series) is following on from our popular Meet the Markers event that was held earlier this year.  Noting many of you missed attending the March event – we are now creating the event to suit our current WFH and online environment.

The program will be run in separate (2) hour subject sessions across 4 weeks in May and early June.

This event continues to be relevant for teachers at all stages of their teaching careers. Whether it is your first year teaching HSC science, whether you are considering marking the HSC exams, or you are looking to help your students maximise their marks - MTM is for you.

• discover what common mistakes students made in the 2019 Exam

• determine if you are marking to the same level of difficulty as the HSC

• Understand what the marking guidelines mean

As a result of participating in Meet the Markers ONLINE, teachers will be more adept at assisting their students to interpret and answer questions, and thus better prepare students for the HSC Trials and Examinations?

Experienced markers will provide insights into the 2019 senior secondary HSC papers where candidature strengths, weaknesses and misconceptions will be discussed. Presented by HSC Markers with recent experience marking the new HSC, MTM2 is an opportunity for teachers of each of the Science HSC courses to increase their understanding of the marking processes. There will be a separate webinar for each science course.

Exam Analysis in Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Environmental Science, Physics, Investigating Science

In these sessions experienced markers of the HSC will discuss the marking of the 2019 exam. Presenters will emphasise the key features of high-quality exam responses as well as the difficulties that many students appeared to have.

Assessment for Depth Studies:

Assessing different types of depth studies fairly is a challenge, or is it? Participants will learn how to construct a variety of assessments for depth studies that assesses the learning. Find out how to provide students with meaningful feedback during a depth study that will help them to evaluate and modify their work.
