2018 Physics Teachers Conference

 

STANSW continues to support the teaching of Physics from years 7 to 12, with a range of workshops for beginner to experienced teachers. With the new year 12 Physics syllabus to be implemented 2019, there are lots of opportunities to collaborate, learn and network with colleagues from across the state to discuss best practice for teaching the new course. Experienced HSC teachers and university academics will pass on techniques, stories and pedagogical advice on how to improve the teaching of Physics.

Australian Professional Teaching Standards

Addresses the following National Professional Standards for Teachers:

The keynotes and workshops are targeted to assist participants in working towards each of the following standards. In addition, teachers working towards higher level standards who provide workshops will be supported with certificates to confirm their presentations.

6.2.2 Engage in professional learning and improve practice Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice, targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.

6.4.2 Apply professional learning and improve student learning Undertake professional learning programs designed to address identified student learning needs.

7.4.2 Engage with professional learning networks and broader communities Participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden knowledge and improve practice.
 

 

Completing STANSW Physics Teachers Conference will contribute 5 hours of NESA Registered PD addressing Standards 6.2.2, 6.4.2, 7.4.2 from the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
