NESA Accredited Professional Development 

Attendance at the full Stage 6 Conference, including the follow up implementation session is NESA Accredited.  This includes the keynotes and 8 workshops covering all modules being delivered across October 12 and 13, and the follow up implementation session taking place Tuesday November 16,  5:30 –7pm.   

This is 11.5 hours of Professional Development at the Proficient Teachers level for standards:

- 2.1.2 Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging teaching activities.
- 3.2.2 Plan and implement well-structured learning and teaching programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning.
- 3.3.2 Select and use relevant teaching strategies to develop knowledge, skills, problem-solving, and critical and creative thinking. 

The Implementation Session is scheduled for Tuesday November 16,  5:30 –7pm.  A zoom link will be sent to all participants.

Elective Professional Development  

 If you are not attending the full conference, you are still able to register your hours as elective PD. The following standards will be addressed across both the Conference Days and the follow up implementation session. 

  • 7.4.2 Participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden knowledge and improve practice.
  • 6.2.2 Participate in learning to update knowledge and practice targeted to professional needs and school and/or system priorities.
  • 6.3.2  Contribute to collegial discussions and apply constructive feedback from colleagues to improve professional knowledge and practice.
  • 6.3.3 Initiate and engage in professional discussions with colleagues in a range of forums to evaluate practice directed at improving professional knowledge and practice, and the educational outcomes of students.

Participants are encouraged to select from 1 to 2 of the following Standards to use as focus for their implementation plan.  You may also choose to select your own Standards

 

  • 2.1.2 Apply knowledge of the content and teaching strategies of the teaching area to develop engaging teaching activities.
  • 2.5.2 Apply knowledge and understanding of effective teaching strategies to support students’ literacy and numeracy achievement.
  • 2.6.2 Use effective teaching strategies to integrate ICT into learning and teaching programs to make selected content relevant and meaningful.
  • 3.2.2 Plan and implement well-structured learning and teaching programs or lesson sequences that engage students and promote learning.
  • 3.3.2 Select and use relevant teaching strategies to develop knowledge, skills, problem-solving, and critical and creative thinking.
  • 3.4.2 Select and/or create and use a range of resources, including ICT, to engage students in their learning. 

    The Implementation Session will take place via Zoom Tuesday November 16, 5:30pm - 7pm
