7 Decades in 7 Days : Online Celebration

Are you having the best of 7 Decades in 7 Days yet? Brace yourselves because there's still so much more in store for everyone. Meanwhile, here's a quick recap of the events the was held since we've open our 70th year anniversary #7DecadesIn7Days.

Last Tuesday, 10th of August, we've officially open our week-long celebration of the association's 70th year anniversary #7DecadesIn7Days. It was such a wonderful time to have the community gathered virtually to join us in our celebration. We would like to extend to you the greetings of the Minister for Education, the Hon. Sarah Mitchell who joined us to recognise the work that Science Teachers do to support students, especially during this challenging time. As well as the greetings of Deputy Leader of the Opposition and Shadow Minister for Education, Ms Prue Car who recognises our reliance on science, that behind the scientists that are driving the innovations tackling our current world issues would be a science teacher that encouraged them as students to think critically and creatively.

On Sunday, we have celebrated through Aboriginal Astronomy Lessons brought to us by Aunty Jo Selfe a Gadigal woman born in Sydney. She has given us such a great insight about ancient astronomy leaving us not only with facts and history but also a great encouragement to all of to go out and discover science, to look at the stars and see beyond what the eyes can see.

This coming Wednesday, 18th of August, we are almost down to the third installment of 7 Decades in 7 Days celebration in association with the Garvan Institute, we celebrate all the strong and inspirational women, who have dedicated their lives to medical research. Recognising some of our great female trailblazers and reflect on how we support the development of our next generation of pioneering thinkers.
