Leadership in Science and beyond
Leadership in science and beyond. This course focuses on identifying and developing the skills and knowledge to pursue a leadership pathway not only in science but beyond the faculty level. In this four-session course, teachers will reflect upon their practise, enhance their strengths and work on their personal skills for future leadership. A reflection journal will be maintained on an area of their choice. On the last day of the course, the teachers will engage with the Early Career Teachers workshop and inspire those participants with a short discussion about their journey as leaders.
As a result of participating in the Leadership in Science, teachers will:
- Increase skills, knowledge and attributes to lead others, to lead themselves effectively.
- Increase their competency in coaching, communication and aligning performance for success.
- Establish networking relationships with teachers outside their own school.
- Interrogate evaluation, data and determine evidence of impact.
Thinking of moving towards Highly Accomplished/Lead Teacher
level? We will explore the proficiency standards and describe
what accreditation involves.
The workshop is designed to provide discussion on understanding the requirements of the HA/LT standards in science. You will be supported in the analysis of the APST to plan your own goals whilst supporting colleagues to identify and achieve their own goals.
Delegates can attend in person at Lindfield Learning Village or participate remotely via Zoom on 27th of October. Please select your preference when registering. Covid pending.
