Central West and Orana region teachers, join us at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo this October for a day of professional development, networking and zoo adventures!

Hosted  by Taronga Education and the Science Teachers’ Association of NSW (STANSW), this event is an opportunity to connect with fellow teachers from around the region. Talk science education, collaborate with teachers and hear about opportunities for regional schools, including the Young Scientist Program.

With a primary stream and secondary stream, the day is designed for teachers looking to enhance their science lessons, explore curriculum-aligned lessons and gain support, ideas and resources.

Date & Time: Thursday, 9th October 2025, from 9am

Location: Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo

Cost: FREE. This event is for NSW teachers only.

Register for this event, attend the morning workshop and receive a FREE family zoo entry (2 adults, 2 children aged 0-16) on the day of the event. Please NOTE: The teacher is included as 1 of the 2 adults. Additional entry passes can be purchased at the Savannah Plaza on the day or online using the Taronga Western Plains Zoo website.

Teachers must attend the event in order to redeem the zoo entry offer. Please ensure an addition adult can supervise your child/ren outside the duration of the timetable below.

Teachers will be taken on a walking tour of the educational facilities, followed by a primary or secondary professional development workshop and time to explore the zoo.

There are limited spots available, so please only register if you are able to come. There will also be a Teacher Preview held on the same day at Taronga Zoo Sydney for Sydney-based teachers.

Registrations close 26 September 2025, or until spaces are filled.
