About Shirley Casper
Having taught Science at primary, secondary and in education at tertiary levels, Shirley’s career at NESA (formerly Board of Studies) included developing STEM activities for K-6, Stage 6 science syllabuses including Investigating Science and Science Extension, working with HSC Examination Committees to develop HSC Examinations and, most recently, developing the Science and Technology K-6 syllabus (2024).
Using the knowledge and experience gained through her career in science education, Shirley now does consultative work with schools and sectors to prepare teachers for the implementation of the K-6 syllabus. She also lectures in K-6 Science and Technology teaching methods at universities.
