Teachers’ Day at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo

Taronga Education and the Science Teachers’ Association of NSW (STANSW) invite teachers and their families to enjoy a complimentary day at Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Dubbo.

The day will kick off with a walking tour of the educational facilities while families can explore the zoo. We’ll then host a primary and secondary professional development workshop for teachers.

Primary Workshop, presented by Anjali Chandrasekar-Rao: Find out how the Young Scientist program aligns with new NSW K-6 Science & Technology Syllabus. Discuss successful teaching strategies and network with fellow science teachers from the Central West region.

Secondary Workshop, presented by Lauren McKnight: Explore ways to inspire students through the Young Scientist Program, find out how the program aligns with the new Science Syllabus Depth Studies component. Hear about education resources and network with fellow science teachers from the Central West region.

This will be followed by a Savannah Safari Tour for teachers and family members (total 4 people per family).
